Die deutsche Hardcore-Band Mahlstrom und die belgische Grunge-Hardcore-Band Every Stranger Looks Like You veröffentlichen im August 2015 eine 12“ Split über Flood Records (BE), Through Love Records (GER), Lala Schallplatten (GER) und My Name Is Jonas Records (AT).
Beide Bands sind mit jeweils drei Songs vertreten. Obwohl sich die Genres und Inhalte unterscheiden, passen die beiden Split-Seiten bestens zueinander, da die Songs düsterer als die früheren Veröffentlichungen beider Bands sind. Durch die unterschiedlichen Herangehensweisen in Dynamik und Tempo wird die Split nie langweilig – und das bei stetigem Tiefgang.

Mahlstrom aus Ditzingen bei Stuttgart spielen deutschsprachigen, direkten Hardcore, der an Bands der 90er Jahre erinnert und bleibt dabei meist unbehelligt vom Einfluss des „modern Hardcore“. Teils voran preschend, teils getragen versucht die Band den Pathos auf dem Boden der Tatsachen zu halten, ruft den Hörer zur Selbstreflexion und ehrlichem Umgang mit Emotionen auf. Dabei verlieren Text, Ton und Bühnenpräsenz keineswegs an Bedeutung oder Energie.
Im September 2011 wurde die erste EP „heimwärts“ veröffentlicht.
Im März 2013 wurde die zweite EP „Nach dem Stillstand“ mit der Unterstützung von Truelove Entertainment, lala Schallplatten, Alcoves Records sowie Broken Silence veröffentlicht.
Die 12″ Split mit den Belgiern von Every Stranger Looks Like You konnte im August 2015 durch Flood Records (BE), Through Love Records (GER), Lala Schallplatten (GER), My Name Is Jonas Records (AT) und Broken Silence veröffentlicht werden.

die dreiköpfige Band Every Stranger Looks Like You aus Brakel in Belgien überzeugt mit ihrer frischen Mischung aus Grunge und Hardcore. Nach der Gründung im Jahr 2011 konnten sie mit ihrer Debut EP „Cursed Soul/Golden Heart“ sowie ihrer leidenschaftlichen Bühnenpräsenz bereits schnell Aufsehen erregen und Fans sowie die einschlägige Fachpresse begeistern.
Mit ihrem ersten Album „Life In The Abyss“, gemastert von Carl Saff (Touché Amoré, Suis La Lune, Self Defense Family,…) konnten die Belgier dann vollends überzeugen und so Konzerte mit Größen wie Bass Drum Of Death (US), Listener (US), Hotel Books (US), Goodtime Boys (UK), The Cold Harbour (UK), Hindsights (UK) und Code Orange (US) spielen.
„De Morgen“, eine der größten Zeitungen Belgiens beschrieb die Live Performance als „…a crushing half hour. As filthy as the dishwater in a college bar, as sharp and stinging as a well placed comparison. If this is ‘the shape of punk to come’, I’ll have one punk membership, please.”
Die 12“ Split mit Mahlstrom im August 2015 stellt die härteste Veröffentlichung der drei Jungs dar und lässt einen gespannt auf die weitere musikalische Entwicklung einer Band mit einem Bulldozer voll Potential blicken.

Mahlstrom and Every Stranger Looks Like You are teaming up for a split release in August 2015!
The German hardcore band Mahlstrom and the Belgian grunge/hardcore band Every Stranger Looks Like You (both founded in 2011) are releasing their 12” split with three songs each in August through Flood Records (BE), Through Love Records (GER), Lala Schallplatten (GER) and My Name Is Jonas Records (AT).
The artwork is done by Micha from schwarzer.rand.
The sound of both bands on this split is darker than on their previous releases, but fits together perfectly on the split, although the genres and the themes are different.
The bands, knowing each other from different tours, will hit the streets of Europe in the end of August for a eleven day release tour:

Mahlstrom is four-piece from Stuttgart,germany. Not really influenced by the modern hardcore genre, they play straight forward but melodic, sometimes carrying hardcore music, which commemorates the sound of 90s german hardcore bands.
With emotional and political lyrics Mahlstrom forces the listener to a point of self reflection. It’s mostly not about negative things in life, but much more about doing it right or at least trying.
In four years as a band Mahlstrom released two EPs called „Heimwärts“ (2011) and „Nach dem Stillstand“ (2013). Now they teamed up with Every Stranger Looks Like You from Belgium to release a Split in July 2015.

Every Stranger Looks Like You is a 3 piece grunge/hardcore band based in Brakel.
Their debut EP „Cursed Soul/Golden Heart“ was received with a wide array of positive reviews, and word of their strong live performances quickly spread and got them to play a lot of shows with bands such as Bass Drum Of Death (US), Listener (US), Hotel Books (US), Goodtime Boys (UK), The Cold Harbour (UK), Hindsights (UK) and many more.
After having toured Germany and played numerous shows in Belgium the self proclaimed „$ludge Megazord“ released their second effort, „Life In The Abyss“, teaming up again with Carl Saff (Touché Amoré, Suis La Lune, Self Defense Family,…) for mastering.
Idioteq.com described the album as sounding „fresh and amazing“, and a few months later ESLLY got to open for Code Orange’s sold out show in London.
